FAQ

  • How does payment work?

  • For security reasons, I require a 50% deposit via bank transfer before starting the work (bank details are provided on the invoice). The remaining amount is to be transferred to my bank account upon completion of the service. Each payment is due within 14 days. If preferred, the full amount can also be paid in advance. Smaller services, such as writing a book blurb, must be paid in full upfront.

  • How long does the editing process take?

  • That depends on the length of the manuscript and the number of errors. You can expect it to take approximately 1–2 months. A translation takes around 2–4 months.

  • Who can book your services?

  • I do not exclude anyone. I primarily work with small publishers and self-publishers, but I am also open to working with large publishers and other companies.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

  • My bank account details will be provided on the invoice.

  • How does the editing process work?

  • First, I always conduct a sample edit of five standard pages to assess your manuscript and determine the amount of work required. After the sample edit, I will send you the invoice. Then, I will edit your entire manuscript, highlighting errors, improvement suggestions, and positive aspects using different colors. Of course, you have the final say on which changes to accept.

  • What happens if I cancel a booked service before it starts?

  • You can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before the project begins. After that, a cancellation fee of €30 applies as the slot could have been given to another client. However, rescheduling is free of charge.

  • What do I require from you as a client when I handle your translation, editing, or proofreading?

  • Your book cover for my portfolio

  • A complimentary copy of the book (if possible)

  • The mention of my name in your imprint

  • What is a standard page?

  • My standard page contains 1,800 characters.

  • What Do you edit/translate?

  • That depends on the individual case. My specialty is novels, but I assess this on a case-by-case basis. Feel free to contact me if you are working in a different genre. I am also happy to proofread bachelor's theses or similar academic work.

  • What if I am a student with limited financial resources?

  • I offer discounts or installment payment plans (upon agreement) for small self-publishers and students.

  • Do you proofread/edit already translated texts?

  • Yes.
