General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
1. Scope
These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by [Marie Beckmann/Mary Bee] in the areas of translation, copywriting and proofreading. By placing an order, the customer accepts these conditions.
2. Conclusion of contract
A contract is concluded when the customer receives written confirmation by email. A deposit of 50% of the total amount is required before work begins (exceptions apply by arrangement for students or self-publishers with limited financial means).
3. Prices & Payment Conditions
Proofreading: Billing per standard page (1,800 characters including spaces)
Translation: Billing per standard page
The remaining amount is to be paid within 14 days of completion and invoicing.
Payment methods: Bank transfer
4. Delivery times & cancellation
Delivery times are agreed individually.
Free cancellation is possible up to 14 days before the start of the project.
In case of short-term cancellation (less than 14 days before the start of the project) a compensation of 30 € will be due.
If work has already begun, the customer can only withdraw if he pays for the services provided up to that point.
5. Disclaimer
The service provider is not liable for errors in proofreading or translation. It is the customer's responsibility to check the final text.
No liability is assumed for damages resulting from the use of revised or translated texts.
6. Rights of Use & Confidentiality
Copyright to the translation: The service provider retains the copyright to the translation. After full payment, the customer receives the non-exclusive, unlimited right to use the translation for the contractually agreed purpose.
All submitted texts and customer data will be treated confidentially.
7. Imprint obligation
In the customer's imprint (book/product) or in other means of communication related to the services provided, I must be mentioned by name (Mary Bee), including a reference to the Instagram profile: @beebookslektorat.
8. Final provisions
The law of [e.g. the Federal Republic of Germany] applies.
